a year ago today I was completing my 500 YTT in Spain specializing in Ayurveda.
The last two years of my life have been dedicated to living a stress free life, and honoring the practices.
for the last two years, I have been traveling the world studying the art of yoga, continuing my studies at Harvard University specializing in Meditation and Psychotherapy: Self-Transcendence, Nonduality, and Immigration Mental Health.

growing up first gen I put my body under a lot of stress, specifically when I was in uni studying engineering I wasn’t sleeping or giving my body the proper regimen. I didn’t like asking for help either & I was hyper independent, so I would research small ways to alleviate the pain with yoga and coconut oil massages on myself.

it wasn’t until I completed my first 200 YTT in costa rica I learned about abhyanga more in depth. Abhyanga is a massage that’s done with warm oil. The oil is applied on the entire body, from the scalp to the soles of your feet. Specific essential oils are used for a certain intention. It was clear that I had my own abhyanga practice at home with coconut oil. what I learned even more in depth from my 500 YTT changed my life forever. It can be a form of therapy to have someone else perform massages. It is a way to release control from everyday tasks.

I’m currently taking a women’s health seminar online to complete my 300 YTT Yoga & Ayurveda teacher training and I’ll be traveling to Spain next month to complete my 500 YTT.

Little by little I’m watching my dreams unfold and my hard work bear fruits of labor. One of my main motivations to studying yoga is to make healthcare more accessible, especially to vulnerable and susceptible communities. There is so much hidden knowledge and self healing practices in Ayurveda & yoga. After my 200 YTT I learned a lot about myself, and more importantly, if I want to heal the world I had to heal myself first.

We can’t fault the rose for not growing. Our environmental factors can affect us. To water & nourish the flower is a privilege.
It’s true in these contemporary times we are exposed to more toxins, making us more vulnerable to diseases. But there is still hope. There is a light. We can adapt to our times, & protect ourself from factors.
I’m very excited to continue to share more on menstrual health, sexual health, yoni self care, and over all well being .

I will never stop advocating for Woman in STEM.

One of my favorite professors Allison Mueler, Columbia graduate Founder & CEO of Mueller Communications, assigned us a book that stuck with me and I could never forget this quote by Daniel Libeskind “It’s shocking that architecture is still so male. But as with all fields, that will change, and architecture will change as a result, because the women will draw on their own experiences, and bring with them new perspectives. What does that mean? Well, we’ll have to wait and see, won’t we? ”

I found my experience in the yoga world to coexist with engineering. When I decided to complete my 200 YTT, I landed in Punta Banco, Costa Rica, and I was relieved to find a room full of woman looking to heal the world.

We spoke about life, the universe, mysteries, time. Yoga use to be a male dominated sport. As time went on things changed. Our lovely instructor, Nicole Mahavir, Harvard graduate & Founder of JAI Wellness said “look around. There is a reason why we are all here today”.

This was a full circle moment.

It excites me to see the age we are living in.

We are shattering the status quo, and entering a time that is more culturally intellectual, networked, and integrated around the globe. We are all making a difference.

It’s true that the careers or job that we want, May not exist yet, because it’s up to us to create it.

Inside of the nothingness was wholeness. Then from this space of nothingness emerged a vibration, a sound.
The vibration began to move and created air, the air increased and created friction and fire, the fire condensed and became water and the water crystallized and became the earth.

Thank you @jaiwellness for this opportunity of a lifetime. I am eternally grateful and humbled. Spending 1 month in the jungle, away from my family, shedding layers, letting go of what no longer serves me.
The morning of my exam, I spent the day collecting red leaves and rose petals on my path. I remembered my childhood. My mom always taught me to put tender love and care into whatever I did.
She taught me that creativity stems from appreciation and making the best of what is already around us.
I carried this with me wherever I went; whether thru engineering or the simple tasks.
And now I am officially a holistic yoga teacher! Thank you to everyone who has supported me on this journey. Very happy to reach this next chapter of my life. I will always be a student of life, and now I’m ready to share with you the ancient wisdom I have gathered in this lifetime. I have hope that one day we can all reach prosperity and peace, because when we achieve internal peace, we will have world peace. Excited to share with you and for what’s to come 🦋🫶🏼🤍✨🤍🕊️ Pura Vida 🌺🐚🌬️
